X5 RETAIL GROUP IS THE 11TH WORLD RETAILER BY GROWTH RATES

The largest retail company in Russia, X5 Retail Group, has become the 11th largest retailer in the world in terms of growth, RBC reports citing data from the Deloitte global rating.

The new Global Powers of Retailing ranking includes the 250 largest retail companies in the world. Deloitte based their results on the results of 12 months, ending on June 30, 2019.

Five Russian companies were included in the largest revenue retailers in the world: X5 Retail Group (42nd place, revenue $24.4 billion), Magnit (51st place, $19.4 billion), Lenta (159th place, $6.6 billion), M.Video (201st place, $5.1 billion), and Dixy (215th place, $4.7 billion).

The top five rankings were Wal-Mart Stores ($514.4 billion), Costco ($141.57 billion), Amazon ($140.21 billion), Schwarz Group ($121.58 billion) and The Kroger ($117.52 billion).

In addition, Deloitte ranked the fastest-growing retail companies in the world. X5 Retail Group was awarded 11th place with revenue growth of 23.4%. A year ago, Lenta was the fastest-growing Russian retailer with an indicator of 27.1%, which put it in 10th place at the time. In the latest rating, Lenta’s growth rate fell to 23.4%.
