PARTICIPANTS OF THE WAREHOUSES OF RUSSIA EXHIBITION VISITED THE UTKINA ZAVOD WAREHOUSE COMPLEX

On November 21, 2019, delegates from the Third International Exhibition-Forum WAREHOUSES OF RUSSIA visited the largest warehouse infrastructure site in the Leningrad Region – the Utkina Zavod warehouse complex.

After a general acquaintance with the complex’s territory and infrastructure, experts in the field of warehouse logistics from 13 Russian cities visited the premises of three companies who are Utkina Zavod’s residents.

First of all, participants went to the main distribution center of the largest  Russian retail chain Petrovich, specializing in the sale of building materials. The manager of the distribution center, Dmitry Ismailov, spoke about how the storage facilities of the flagship in domestic DIY retail are organized. On 15,000 square meters of space rented by Petrovich in different areas of the storage site, participants were able to get acquainted with the technical equipment, which includes all the variety of storage equipment: several types of rack structures, including a mezzanine and shuttle. Reach trucks, single-pallet and two-pallet pallet carriers, mobile pallet packers, electric forklifts, hydraulic trolleys, high-altitude pickers with a lifting capacity of up to 900 kg and tow stackers with a lifting height of 4 meters – the participants of the tour were able to see all of these in action ...

After that, the participants were divided into two groups, each of which went to production. The first group visited the factory for producing cookware with the non-stick coating Tefal produced by the company Group SEB Vostok. The area of 6,000 square meters housed not only production, but also a warehouse of finished products and components, as well as a high-tech laboratory for quality control.

The second group visited a production and storage facility with an area of 10,000 sq.m, rented since 2011 by Antolin Group St. Petersburg LLC, which is part of the international holding Grupo Antolin, a world leader in producing components for decorating car interiors. During the tour, participants visited a production site, where ceiling, door panels, and power windows for the following automobile brands are manufactured: Nissan, Renault, Volkswagen, Toyota, Avtovaz.

At the end of the tour, all participants took a memorable photo to remember the exhibition Warehouses of Russia and the warehouse complex Utkina Zavod against the background of the production site for Grupo Antolin.
