KORABLIK ONCE MORE CONFIRMS: CHEKHOV Warehouse Complex is the IDEAL WAREHOUSE FOR RETAILERS

One of the largest federal chains of children's stores, Korablik, signed a long-term lease agreement for 10,400 sq. m of storage space in the Chekhov Warehouse Complex.

The Chekhov Warehouse Complex is managed by one of the leaders in the Grade-A warehouse real estate market in Russia, MLP management company. In total, MLP manages more than 1.8 million sq. m of Grade-A warehouse space in existing logistics complexes ( www.mlprussia.com ). JLL Company acted as a consultant for the deal.

Korablik is one of the largest retail chains in Russia and has been offering a wide selection of goods for expectant mothers and children for the past 20 years. For modern parents’ convenience, the online store korablik.ru was launched in 2012; regular promotions and discounts, as well as convenient delivery make the online shopping process not only quick, but also affordable. Thanks to its network of offline stores, plus a multitude of delivery points and the possibility for delivery from the Korablik online store to the customer’s home, customers from all over the country can easily obtain goods for pregnant women and children.

“In relation to the Korablik chain of stores’ rapid expansion, as well as an increase in the number of online orders, we decided to create our own distribution center based out of the Chekhov Warehouse Complex. Switching to our own processing will allow us to more efficiently manage supply chains, respond promptly to all market changes, and complete tasks within established timeframes. In this way, modernizing our logistics system will help to provide consumers with goods as soon as possible, as well as significantly reduce Korablik’s expenses,” noted Artem Churilov, Korablik’s Logistics Director.

“After this agreement, the share of retail organizations among tenants in the Chekhov warehouse complex reached 90%. Korablik has enriched the complex’s worthy company of tenants, including some of the largest federal retailers: X5 Retail Group, M.Video/Eldorado, Lenta, Moneks Trading. The remaining 10% is taken up by logistics companies,” commented Ilya Pronichkin, the head of MLP’s Tenant Relations Department.

“Retailers are the most active tenants in the warehouse real estate market; since 2011, this segment accounted for at least 30% of all transactions. In the first half of 2019, this figure reached 41%. The presence of e-commerce is becoming more and more noticeable, due to both online retailers leasing space themselves, as well as the result of traditional retail chains opening their own online stores. Given the high competition in these segments, the speed of packaging orders and reducing errors in processing are among the key factors in the battle for consumers. We are confident that this modern and technological Grade-A warehouse complex will provide Korablik with an advantage in the market, and the professional team represented by MLP Management Company will become a reliable partner for the chain,” noted Evgeny Bumagin, director of the Warehouse and Industrial Premises Department at JLL.
