WILDBERRIES’ SEPTEMBER SALES ROSE BY 80%

Sales at Wildberries, one of Russia’s largest online retailers, rose by 80% in September, writes e-pepper.ru citing a company announcement.

As the company reported, sales in September exceeded 10 billion rubles. Of that total, about 9 billion rubles was generated by sales within the country.

Revenue in the third quarter of 2018 in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan increased by 75% in annual terms to almost 30 billion rubles. For the first nine months of the year, the company's turnover reached 76 billion rubles.

“In addition to expanding our offered goods (we have more than 5,000 new brands on the website since the beginning of the year), in the third quarter we opened 555 new pick-up points, launched a regional warehouse in St. Petersburg, increased our fleet, and reduced the transit time to Novosibirsk to 72 hours,” reported Yegor Pchelintsev, director of the retailer’s advertising department, in a company statement.

Additionally, the growth in sales was affected by a significant increase in customer base: the number of buyers in the first nine months of 2018 increased by 75%.
