Warehouses and logoparks being merged in a sectoral committee on the basis of the Association of Industrial Parks in Russia

Earlier, the resolution on the establishment of the Committee was adopted by the Board of Association of Industrial Parks (AIP) of Russia at the initiative of warehouse market players.

Participants of the Committee already include companies, such as MLP, PNK, JLL, Skladman USG, ROMEX-Kuban, Logoprom Holding Company, Orientir (Logopark Sever-2), Freight Village Kaluga JSC.

The Committee was established to join efforts of the participants in the warehouse property market to address industry-specific challenges and promote common initiatives, hold events and share experience. Members of the Committee will be developers and managers of warehouses and logistics parks, brokers and consultants on warehouse properties and other interested companies.

During the meeting, participants identified a list of priority areas of work of the Committee:

- Dealing with contractors on the construction of warehouse complexes and sharing experience in the application of advanced technical solutions;

- Improving the system of interaction between developers of warehouses and brokers and real estate consultants;

- Financial instruments for warehouse projects;

- Possibility of applying measures to provide state support for warehouses and logoparks;

- Development of agrologistic infrastructure as a warehouse property segment.

By the way, subsidizing agro-industrial parks from the federal budget was already preliminarily supported by the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, and since 2019 it is expected to be available for private management companies subject to support from regional administrations. The state participation interest in such projects will reach 50% of all infrastructure costs.

The participants made a special point on the current warehouses classification system and its possible improvement. If necessary, the Association is ready to develop and submit for approval a GOST national standard containing requirements for different categories of warehouse to eliminate divergent interpretations of the classification, to ensure uniform approaches and principles of publicity, openness and transparency.

However, the expedience of this step will be left to the discretion of the members of the Warehouse Committee of AIP and will be decided by open vote at one of the meetings.

On all those issues, the Committee will hold regular events in various formats: seminars, round tables, business breakfasts, offsite tours, conferences and anti-conferences. Members of the Committee could participate in the events free of charge.

Information about the events will be available in the Action Plan published on the website of the Association of Industrial Parks in Russia WWW.INDPARKS.RU.
