YOKOHAMA PLANTED HALF A MILLION TREES FOR ITS ANNIVERSARY

Yokohama Rubber Company has reported on achieving the goal of its eco-project, Yokohama Forever Forest: to celebrate its 100th anniversary, it has planted 500,000 trees.

The program was launched in 2007, and Yokohama’s factories, technical centers, and offices in Japan and abroad participated. The commemorative five hundred thousandth tree was planted on September 14 at Yokohama’s plant in Hiratsuka, Japan.

The company said that it will continue to implement environmental initiatives, such as tree planting, supporting eco-programs, and controlling CO2 emissions.

Yokohama’s goals, as reported in an official statement by the company, include increasing environmental awareness, slowing global warming, preventing natural disasters, creating protected forests, and conserving biodiversity.
